DESCRIPTION:Saturday 11 th May 2024 at 7.30 pm in the Haslemere Hall\n\nThe
  Haslemere Musical Society is excited to announce that its leader\, Tom Ho
 rn will be performing ‘The\nLark Ascending’ in a concert which has as 
 its theme ‘nature’\, especially suited to a Spring concert. As\nwell a
 s the Vaughan Williams there will be Respighi’s ‘The Birds’ and the 
 chorus will join the orchestra\nfor choruses from Haydn’s ’The Creatio
 n’.\n\nIn ‘The Lark Ascending’ Vaughan Williams creates images of th
 e lark with music in an incredible way.\nWhile in ’The Birds’ Respighi
 \, a twentieth century composer\, turned to baroque music for inspiration.
 \n‘The Creation’\, an oratorio written by Joseph Haydn in 1797 and 179
 8\, depicts the creation of the world\nas told in the Book of Genesis and 
 is considered by many to be one of his masterpieces.\n\nThe programme for
