You don't have to be able to play or sing to support us! We are proud of our achievements in bringing live orchestral and choral music to the community for nearly 100 years. Not only does the society put on four concerts a year, it also encourages development of local talent by offering half-price membership subscriptions to students and by inviting participation in concerts by pupils from local schools. This would not be possible without the support of our Friends, Patrons and Sponsors. We do not receive any Arts Council funding.
Society members cover the basic running and rehearsal costs through their annual subscriptions, but promoting and staging our concerts is increasingly expensive. Even with a full house, ticket and programme sales do not cover concert expenses, such as the hire of Haslemere Hall for the evening and engaging top-class professional soloists.
We are proud to be supported by a number of local businesses and funds, as well as by individuals who enjoy our concerts and believe that what we provide is important. They are the vital core of an appreciative and discerning audience. Please consider whether you can join them, and have a look at the various ways you can support us, from choosing Haslemere Musical Society when shopping via Easyfundraising, to becoming a Friend, Patron or Sponsor.
Donations and legacies
If you have valued your association with HMS, whether as a singing member, orchestral member or as part of the audience, you will know how much the Society has given to you, perhaps over many years, through the magnificence, beauty and emotional power of music. We need your help to safeguard the future of HMS and to ensure that the next generation of singers, players and audience can experience the same benefits of making and enjoying live music in our local community. You can help us do this by remembering Haslemere Musical Society in your will. We will be most grateful for your legacy, which we will be pleased to recognise in our concert programme, unless you would prefer to remain anonymous.
