HMS summer sessions

Do you play a musical instrument or enjoy singing?

Would you like the opportunity to join in a few one-off sight-reading sessions of some fantastic classical works with a local group of friendly fellow musicians?

Then come and join Haslemere Musical Society for our well-established ‘Summer Sessions’ on Monday evenings (7:30-10pm) in June. We choose music to entertain and challenge and in many cases the pieces will subsequently make it onto our concert programmes. All are welcome, whether members of the Society or not.

We normally make a small charge for each session to cover the cost of music and venue hire.

We will be holding three Summer sessions in June 2022:

Monday 13 June in the Haslemere Hall (7.30-10pm):
For Choir and Orchestra

Music to celebrate the Queen's Platinum Jubilee
including Handel's 'Zadok the Priest', Elgar's Pomp and Circumstance no 1, Holst's 'I vow to Thee my country', Parry's 'Jerusalem' and Binge's 'Elizabethan Serenade'

Mon 20 June in St Christopher's Church, Haslemere (7.30-10pm):
For Orchestra

Schubert's 'Unfinished' Symphony and Beethoven's Coriolan Overture

Mon 27 June in St Christopher's Church, Haslemere (7.30-10pm)
For Orchestra

Dvořák's 'New World' Symphony

All singers/players are welcome, especially for the Jubilee evening.  There is a nominal charge of £5 per person per session to cover costs.  Free refreshments are provided.

These sessions are open to all, Members and Non-Members.  Advance booking is not essential but it would be helpful if you are able to let us know in advance that you are coming to a Session.
