The intimate setting of St Christopher's Church is the venue for a performance of Mozart's Horn concerto no.4, featuring HMS's Principal Horn, Roger Doulton, as soloist. This is arguably the best known of Mozart's horn concertos. It was made popular by Flanders and Swann, who set the third movement (Rondo) to words for their song "Ill Wind" from the album "At the Drop of Another Hat".    Starting with Mendelssohn's early work A Calm Sea and Prosperous Voyage, the mood changes with Glinka's lively Kamarinskaya, based on Russian folk song.  The programme is completed by Haydn's Symphony No 103, one of his later "London" symphonies, which was written at the time of his peak creativity. It is named after the long roll on the timpani with which the symphony opens.

James Ross conducts.
