The concert features Brahms's uplifting and deservedly popular German Requiem, his longest and largest ensemble work for chorus, orchestra, and soprano and baritone soloists. Unlike a long tradition of the Latin Requiem, Brahms's Requiem, as its title states, is set in the German language.

Sullivan's Overture de Ballo with its sparkling dance themes introduces a lighter mood as Haslemere Musical Society leads the audience into the festive season with settings of well-loved carols and extracts from Schütz's Christmas Oratorio.  HMS's December concert is typically a sell out so book your tickets early to avoid disappointment.
